Gene's "Campaign Facts On The Ground"

As we all know, Gene quit his job last week after the IRS finally caught up with him and filed a lien against his paycheck for unpaid federal income taxes. However, his presidential campaign still needs money, and lots of it, apparently just for him to live on. "Why work when you can live off others" seems to be Gene's new motto. He claims he has to have at least $3100/month for 21 months.

Entire families live on far less than that. After all, he's effectively demanding a tax-free minimum salary of 37K so he can play make-believe presidential candidate. He seems to be threatening to quit his campaign if he doesn't get the money, not ever realizing that no one cares if he runs or not, and that no one is ever going to send him that kind of money.

I'm not sure why he needs to be supported for 21 months, though. The party nominations will be done long before then, unless of course he plans to waste .... er, I mean, spend money as an independent candidate even if all the parties ignore him as expected.

Campaign facts on The Ground

To wage a credible road-based campaign, I will need a minimum of $100 per day or $3,100 per month thru the next 21 months.

A bus ticket to Orlando, Florida for the LP events of March 17, 18 and 19 will cost me somewhere around $200, plus food and shelter. I expect about the same cost for a bus ticket to Tennessee for the march 31st events.

On the CP events in April, I expect we will need $400 plus food and shelter for the 21st and 22nd.

Beyond this, I am forced to seek employment in Texas, and I don't know what will be allowed for campaigning, if I get a job. I'm checking into technical school tomorrow, as my life experience tells me that tons of money just doesn't show up on your doorstep in this world for campaigns. If it did, I'd already be pushing full time in the presidential campaign.

The biggest development is the Class Action Materials under "B2" of the "Platform Writings" on the left side of ChapmanForPresident08.com being examined by the Southern Baptist Convention for a possible change to their Confession of Faith. WOW!

Of course, Gene's right when he says money doesn't just show up on your doorstep. You have to actually walk out into the backyard and pick it off the money tree when you want to waste a lot of money on foolishness .... er, I meant, live off other people rather than working .... er, I meant, run a losing political campaign .... er, well, you all know what I'm trying to say. LOL

Okay, let's talk about where he's really going to get this money. Gene basically wants his supporters to provide 100% of his personal expenses so he doesn't have to work, plus the campaign expenses. I think that much is clear, especially since he makes it clear that if he doesn't get the money, he might have to get a job (or go to tech school) and then won't have time to campaign. However, his supporters are all deadbeats who, like him, can't hold onto a job because they're running from the IRS (except Doug, who is busy paying off an outstanding tax bill, so he doesn't have any money either).

Of course, it would normally be possible for a candidate to raise needed funds by getting small donations from a large number of supporters. Since Gene only has a handful of supporters (if that many, if you don't count his campaign staff) he doesn't have that option.

I'm also curious about Gene attending tech school. While I think it's a wonderful thing to further one's education no matter what one chooses to study, I'm not sure he can enroll in any school without a social security number (well, technically he has one, but he "turned it in" so he pretends like he doesn't have one). I'm also not quite clear on how he plans to pay for it. He can't get a student loan or an educational grant without a social security number, and he apparently has no savings since he just announced that he's down to his last $800.

Incidentally, he read the letter from the Southern Baptist Convention on an audioblog. What's strange is that, where he reads it as a "WOW!" letter, suggesting that he is changing the face of Christianity, everyone else thinks it sounds like either a form letter, or a letter telling him politely not to bother the guy anymore.

That is, everyone except one person commenting to Gene's blog. That person thinks there's not a letter at all, and that Gene's just making up the entire thing.

I honestly don't think Gene is making up the letter. I think he's just misinterpreting it, because his "life experience" has not even come close to preparing him for the real world. Gene seems to think it can't be a form letter because it was signed in ink, and he claims that the letter suggests the President of the Southern Baptist Convention was "impressed" with his Class Action Material even though in reality it says no such thing.

In far less amusing news, Gene continues making veiled suicide threats. He previously said he was going to walk out into the desert without water. Now, he says that he is going to get onto a raft and float out into the ocean.

"1) My schooling is still up in the air. I have another auto mechanic school about 10 miles from my home I can attend and pay cash for, but it might take 2 to 4 years to complete.

2) My car that I had in storage for 3 1/2 years is in very bad shape and will go back into storage for a "project car" for school down the line.

3) I started an Advertising business that might make some fast cash on weekends.

LMAO Poor ol' Genie -- apparently no one's come up with $3100/month for his "presidential run." And an advertising business on weekends. Hmm. Doing what, I wonder - twirling a sign at a city intersection for a business?

This guy keeps sinking lower and lower. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up in another psych ward by June or July.
